BIO
Travis Barker (born November 14, 1975) is an American drummer, songwriter, and producer best known as the powerhouse behind the pop-punk band Blink-182. Famed for his explosive energy, rapid-fire chops, and genre-blending creativity, Barker has become one of the most recognizable and influential drummers in modern music. His unique mix of punk aggression, hip-hop groove, and technical precision has inspired countless drummers and helped shape the sound of a generation.
Born and raised in Fontana, California, Barker began drumming at a young age and quickly developed a natural talent for rhythm. He grew up listening to a mix of punk, hip-hop, and jazz — influences that later defined his diverse playing style. After playing in several punk bands, including The Aquabats, he joined Blink-182 in 1998 just before the release of their breakthrough album Enema of the State (1999). Songs like “What’s My Age Again?,” “All the Small Things,” and “Adam’s Song” catapulted the band — and Barker — to international fame.
Barker’s powerful yet precise drumming became a signature part of Blink-182’s sound, elevating the band beyond their peers. Known for his athletic live performances and signature marching snare-inspired fills, he brought technical sophistication to punk drumming without losing its raw energy. Beyond Blink-182, Barker has collaborated with a wide range of artists across genres, including Machine Gun Kelly, Yungblud, Avril Lavigne, Lil Wayne, and Post Malone. He’s also released solo work and remixes that highlight his love for hip-hop and electronic music.
In 2008, Barker survived a near-fatal plane crash that profoundly changed his life. His recovery and return to music became a story of resilience and determination. Today, Travis Barker remains an icon of innovation, bridging the worlds of rock, punk, and hip-hop while continuing to inspire new generations of musicians.
